Have a winter survival kit, recommended items to have: First aid supplies Windshield scraper and snow brush Flares and matches for lighter Gloves, Flashlight Shovel, traction mat , sand or kitty litter Extra clothing and footware Booster cables If you have a cell phone, make sure it is charged and bring it with you. The list can go on and on, most of all pay attention, be proactive, watch the vehicle in front of you and behind you to give yourself lots of room for turns and stopping.
